Divorce litigation can leave both spouses disappointed. A custody battle often results in the two people most important to a child escalating their differences at the expense of the child. As a neutral family mediator, I can help Lancaster and Berks county couples resolve their differences through the process of mediation from my office in Ephrata. Divorce mediation can be a more peaceful and financially economical alternative to divorce litigation. The process of negotiating an agreement on distribution of marital assets, debts and other issues helps the spouses avoid escalation of the differences they experienced during marriage. Unmarried domestic partners find that mediation provides a forum to resolve property issues unique to non-traditional families. Mediation allows parents to work out a creative child custody and support agreement that maximizes parenting opportunities and establishes a working co-parenting relationship that is in the best interests of the child.
